Any projects undertaken by the Foundation are to be pre- approved by the Board of the Company. Projects must meet the criteria determined by the Board and be in accord with the company constitution and the Objects of the Company as set out in the Constitution.
The Board reserves the right to seek general approval of the company membership at a general meeting if in the opinion of the board, any particular project due to its nature, size, possible cost or if deemed to be of national importance such approval should be sought prior to acceptance.
As the company is a Not-for-Profit Organisation, all funds received in relation to specific projects are to be applied to the specific purpose for which the funds are received ,or set aside for use in that project. It is not the purpose of this organisation to develop projects to a commercial level or be involved in profit making schemes or projects, even though this may be the eventual outcome.
The aim of the foundation is to assist in creating the environment, awareness, and funding for projects; and where necessary encourage participation in feasibility studies that lead to projects being created that are of benefit to regional communities socially, environmentally and economically. It is anticipated most projects will be synonymous with the name i.e., be in the fields of Resources, Energy and the Environment, so that these complement one another, and not to the detriment of either.
Funds provided not specifically related to a project can be applied at the discretion of the Board to any project or for general administration required to administer the company or project.
The board has determined a protocol for the operation and administration of projects, including a submission to the Board for approval, projected budgets, operation of project committees and mandatory reporting to the Board. This protocol is available to any prospective applicants seeking a project approval.
